I hate how people mock the edge...

Like for example..when you KNOW they do drugs/drink/smoke, yet they're like "i'm straight edge". It's so immature.

Ugh. DONE HEARD! and then some, fucking kids. they can't leave well enough alone seeing as how someone has a certain set of beliefs and accept that as what it really is. No they have to say something about it, or mock it in a lamely pathetic attempt to make an asshole of you, but just end up making them look like more of the person you knew they were to begin with. Try being straight edge at a school, where if you don't do drugs and yada yada yada.. when they do.. and blah blah blah. Yes every school has drugs in it, but from what i've seen in my state, my school is horrible for drugs, rich kids getting their hundred bucks a week from daddy and spending it on coke and colatipins for their friends and themselves. Anyway, I agree with you 100%. sorry i'll shut up.

wait a minute. is a kid of "The Edge" bitching about kids mocking others for what they do? why not stop trying to play bitch for a label that has a LOOOOONG history of not only ignorance, but intolerance. if you want people to stop "picking" on you, why not try lacking the insecurity necessary to label yourself with sXe. you may be proud of your choices, but look at the label you brand yourself with and their history before being upset about the reaction you get. this is all very similar to the kid that dyes his hair black, wear gothic clothing, then crying because people look at him funny.
You must have misunderstood what i said. I never said anyone was picking on me. I'm not at all ashamed of being straight edge, and people can make fun of me all they want (not that they do). All i'm saying is that it's annoying when people say their straight edge, and then light up a cigarette a couple minutes later.

Don't call me a bitch. You're the one sitting here turning my words into something they're not. All i simply said was 'i hate how kids mock the edge'. End of story. Not once did i say 'i go into a corner and cry because i'm so ashamed that people mock who i am'. It's not a REACTION i get. It's an IMPRESSION.
beh. knife knife, throat throat.

you can't be edge for a certain amount of time, then not be edge, then be edge again, it's either you are or you aren't. christ almighty, but people will do as they may.

for real... people are so lame. i heard some girl say "i've been straight edge for almost 7 minutes!" riiight... because that makes sense.
:(
I'M EDGE. AND I'M SO COOL.
STRAIGHT EDGE MEANS I'LL MURDER YOU.

hey. at least you're not part of a scene you'll be making fun of in a year.

HAHAHA.

STRAIGHT EDGE MEANS I HAVE NO FRIENDS.
For some reason the kids at my school aren't that cruel. They accept the fact that i'm straight edge..i guess that's about the only thing that ISN'T wrong with my school.
or maybe it's because you're "dressed to kill" and sooooooooo ugly.

edge is for faggots.
what an awful trend.
DIE BITCH.
I don't really care what you have to say about me. It's pretty pathetic when someone like you has to get on a computer behind your computer 'safety' screen just to tell people like me who you don't even know that we're ugly. Well, here's the funny part: i don't care what you say about me. Bring the rude comments on. You don't know me. You've never tried to get to know me. All i was trying to do was be nice to you, and you come back with all those insults. I don't know what i ever did to you.

'die bitch'? Those aren't just words you throw around. that's awful harsh, don't you think? You've never met me. You've never spoken to me before. Why don't you try to get to know me before you call me ugly and tell me to die?

And about my hair..I could easily say the same thing about you, except i don't really see any hair. You have a fat face, and your glasses look absolutely terrible on you. Your lips are fat, and you've got a weird chin. DIE BITCH.

"mock the edge."

like it's some kind of religious movement.
please. all "straight edge" is a bunch of little kids claiming a label because they're too insecure to deal with thier choice to not do drugs in any form. i have no respect for anyone that claims the label- however, i have the utmost respect in those people who choose a lifestyle that involves not polluting themselves- the catch to that is that those people are the ones that don't need the label- they're confident enough in thier choice that they don't need to hide under a trendy label. kids that claim they are straightedge are some of the most intolerant people around. they feel the need to hop up on thier soapbox and preach to everyone else how much better they are, because they choose not to drink/smoke/etc. the shit about peer pressure is a joke. "i'm so lonely because i'm the only one in my high school that doesn't do drugs. everyone makes fun of me because i'm sXe." if you were a strong person, you wouldn't give a shit. you wouldn't judge others on thier choices, and most of them aren't judging you. the ones that give you shit about being straightedge shouldn't matter.

i would bet 20 dollars on most of the kids on here that they'd sell out by 21. after all, the most vocal, the most inclined to need to fit under a label, the ones with the big black x's on thier hands are always the first to go.

when you stop cringing underneath the label and stand up for your beliefs and in a way that doesn't judge others consistently for their sins- that's when you're doing it for yourself, and not to be cool.

lame.

good luck, and see you out at the bars in about six years when you're actually old enough to leave your parents' house.

You wasted your time typing with all of that, because i disagree with most of it. Straight edge is not a trendy label. It never will be. How many people do you see in this world that don't do drugs, drink, etc? Not very many. Those who do chose to be under the label are not afraid of what they've chosen. They don't have to hide behind a mask by not calling themselves straight edge, yet not drinking or doing drugs. They are proud of their choices and aren't afraid to show others that this is what they are. I've never once 'hopped up on my soapobox and preached to everyone else about how much better i am' because i don't think im better than everyone else. I just call myself straight edge because i want people to know that i dont do drugs or drink. I'm proud of my choice. I never once said up there that people make fun of me. I never said i'm the only one in my high school that doesn't do drugs. All i said was it's annoying when people blatantly go out of their ways to call themselves straight edge when everyone knows they aren't.

*'all straight edge is is a bunch of little kids claiming a label because they're too insecure to deal with their choice to not do drugs in any form'*

Well actually, you just made yourself look really stupid in saying that. If we were so insecure in dealing with our choice to not do drugs in any form, we wouldn't try to call ourselves by a name that says we don't do drugs. We wouldn't say we were anything. Those people that try to hide by not telling anyone are the ones that are insecure. And don't call me a little kid. I'm 17 years old.

I dont put big black x's on my hand. i just make it known to my friends that i don't do the kind of shit they do. it's not that hard to understand. i never once said i was better than anyone else. except jeanjacketrock. anyone is better than her.

You'd bet me 20 dollars most of us would sell out? Why don't you bet a little more? 20 dollars is an easy amount to pay. I'd say you're just scared. And actually, you say you'll see me in bars in 6 years..Well i'll be old enough to go into bars in 4. Stop judging someone you know nothing about. It will be a neverending battle, because we both disagree severely with each other.

let me state that first:

i'm quite a bit older than seventeen, so i've seen quite a few " straightedge till death!" kids out smoking weed and drinking beers.

second. that post was far from being directed solely at you: i could name a few others on this community but i'm not going to waste my time. the reason it's under your thread is that i'm not going to bother joining this community to make a post. but i'm glad you took it so personally.

look at the age bracket here.
people do end up realizing with maturity that a glass of wine with dinner isn't going to kill them. i know about three people total that are above 24 and still straightedge. and they're not the ones running around with sXe patches on thier hands. they were the quiet ones all along- the ones that were doing it for themselves and not to fit in.

and for the rest: you don't have a right to say who's straightedge and who isn't. one slip erases years, right? you didn't make the rules. no one did.

i'm personally not judging you, because i have no idea who you are, and i couldn't care any less either. i'm judging your movement that you choose to take part in. a movement that has formed communities in several cities like hardliners: people that beat the shit out of other people mathew shepard style because they were smoking a cigarette. i'm not judging your choice not to drink or do drugs- it's one of the healthiest things a person can do for themselves. i'm criticizing kids' choice to take part in a movement that has sanctioned beatings, and is known for being incredibly judgemental of others.

as i have stated numerous times, i appreciate and think it's a wonderful choice not to do drugs. but i don't hold with respecting any organization that tries to be Jerry Falwell in respect to drinkers.

and you can call me stupid all you want, if that's your response to people who disagree with you, instead of maturely stating why you think as you do.

Stop trying to be like everyone else on this lame ass community.

"emo kids a fags...

you sound unintelligent. learn to spell.
mock-edge rocks.
I love right winged assholes who think they are right about everything... Yes straight edge came from hardcore but got better known as minor threat came out when most of their songs were about sxe and they were punk... there for you don't have to be hardcore to be sxe and NFT (New Found Trend/Glory) their guitarist was in Shai Hulud (a hardcore band) and is still all about hardcore and being straight edge.. so because he is in NFT that makes him not straight edge anymore... that makes sense.. I might not liek NFT but u see their video on every 5 seconds and see the "XXX" on his cabs and the "sXe and "hXc". Just because you listen to a certain type of music doesn't mean you can't be something because the way you live.
